Construction of an Additional Facility to Serve the Market
The Customer is a medium-sized manufacturer of premium pet food who is looking to expand into the production of wet pet food. Due to increased market demand following the COVID-19 pandemic, the company decided to invest in a new production facility for dog and cat wet food in cans.
A comprehensive comparison of countries and regions identified eastern Germany and western Poland as the most attractive and economical options. A detailed regional analysis of wage levels, transportation, utility and waste infrastructure, and proximity to key suppliers ultimately led to the decision for a site in western Poland. Metroplan supported the client in the strategic site search, including the selection of suitable properties, detailed technical due diligence, and assistance with the entire purchase process.
In parallel, funding opportunities were explored, with Metroplan assisting the client in calculating and applying for grants and drafting the funding application. After successfully acquiring the land through a closed auction, comprehensive foundational investigations and analyses of process-specific user requirements were conducted. An integrated factory and building plan, from concept and design to permitting planning, was developed.
The next phase included tendering construction services, machinery, and equipment. Metroplan also coordinated the award process, developed award recommendations, and documented the entire procedure. The planning was continuously monitored to ensure successful project execution.
