We make your building fit for a sustainable future with a focus on economic efficiency. By combining a balanced mix of renewable energies, energy-efficient solutions for building technology and technical systems, and sustainability-oriented, attractive functional architecture, we guarantee that your building will make a positive contribution to your company's sustainability balance throughout its entire life cycle.

This is not merely about adhering to legal mandates concerning CO2 emissions, climate and environmental protection. It is also about safeguarding value, curbing operating costs, enhancing competitiveness and augmenting attractiveness for customers, business partners and investors. As a rule of thumb: The integration of sustainability solutions at the concept and design stage yields the most significant outcomes. Furthermore, these solutions are considerably more cost-effective and straightforward to implement than those introduced at a later stage.

Green building as greenfield or brownfield development

For new buildings on greenfield sites, it is possible to consider sustainability aspects from the outset, when developing initial ideas for the greenfield building or green factory. Furthermore, we offer a comprehensive range of cutting-edge technical solutions and architectural design options to meet your specific requirements.

When transforming an existing building into a green brownfield building, the same options are available as for a new building. However, there are often restrictions and higher costs involved. This is particularly the case when the building is being converted, expanded, modernised or expanded.

Uncover potential savings

In the case of existing buildings, our first step is to conduct a comprehensive survey of the current status of emissions and energy consumption. This provides transparency regarding the areas and fields of action with the greatest potential for savings. We then collaborate with you to establish reduction targets that align with legal requirements and identify appropriate measures.

If the achievement of individual targets requires a disproportionately high use of resources, we develop options for compensation measures. For example, energy from fossil energy sources can be replaced by renewable energies and unavoidable CO2 emissions can be equalised through CO2 certificates.

Photovoltaic systems

Photovoltaic systems are now one of the most frequently planned and implemented sustainability measures. The vast roof areas of industrial, production and logistics buildings are typically free of shade, making them ideal for use in a variety of applications. It is possible to meet a proportion or even the entirety of the energy requirements of production and logistics processes conducted in these facilities by utilising photovoltaics.

It is standard practice to factor in new buildings from the outset and plan for them accordingly. In existing buildings, retrofitting is possible depending on the construction, load reserve, age and condition of the roof. Retrofitting can also be carried out as a separate project.

We act as general planners or general contractors, offering a comprehensive, single-source solution. Our services encompass the full spectrum of project management, from initial enquiry to completion. We provide consultancy, planning, economic efficiency calculations, procurement, installation coordination, commissioning, acceptance and handover.

Diverse possibilities for sustainable construction

Sustainability has been a core consideration in our projects for many years. We have a comprehensive understanding of the available sustainable construction options and can provide expert guidance on the optimal combination of measures for your project.

Fields of action include

  • Building materials with low CO2 emissions, selected from a database of over 130,000 building materials and products with CO2 key figures
  • Doors and gates with good insulation values and high tightness for greater energy efficiency
  • Façade and roof insulation to reduce heat and cold losses
  • Rainwater utilization to reduce fresh water consumption and relieve the sewerage system
  • Roof and façade greening to increase biodiversity, store water and reduce the heat island effect
  • Process heat recuperation for use in production or for heating purposes
  • Power-to-heat technologies for converting surplus electrical energy from photovoltaic systems into thermal energy
  • Combined heat and power generation for an integrated heat and power supply
  • Geothermal energy to replace fossil fuels
Receive comprehensive support

Furthermore, we assist you in assessing the environmental impact of your building, including greenhouse gas emissions, resource and energy consumption. We integrate the requirements of sustainability systems such as LEED, BREEAM, DGNB or BNB into our planning and organise the application for and obtaining of certificates.

Energy storage under extreme wheather conditions in Antarctica

The project involved concept planning and basic engineering for a battery storage system with a capacity of approximately 500 kWh. The planning adhered to DNV standards, the world's largest ship classification society, which certifies energy systems in maritime environments.
