Execution planning and functional specification validation
Robust execution planning provides the foundation for successful commissioning. We monitor the general contractor’s planning and systematically review it for compliance with the defined requirements and processes. We coordinate the technical and IT vendors as well as the construction and building services disciplines, ensuring consistent alignment across all interfaces.
Particular attention is given to the quality of the functional descriptions. We support the functional specification workshops for warehouse management, material flow, and control systems and verify that the resulting specifications fully comply with the defined requirements. Any deviations are identified early and systematically corrected.
To ensure transparency, we also establish a structured change-request process that allows project-related modifications to be evaluated and managed from both a technical and commercial perspective.
Implementation and project management during execution
During the construction and installation phase, we safeguard project progress through continuous implementation monitoring. We support on-site coordination, assess each vendor’s progress, and systematically compare it with the plans, contracts, and project schedule.
Our experts monitor equipment installation, document deviations, and consistently track their resolution. This allows errors to be identified early and corrective action to be taken before they affect subsequent operations. Before delivery, we inspect material handling components and system interfaces through Factory Acceptance Testing at the vendor’s facility. In parallel, we monitor the development of the IT systems and ensure compliance with the defined process requirements.
Testing and acceptance procedures
Before the transition to operational use, we ensure that all systems work together reliably and deliver the required performance. We develop structured test concepts based on the defined requirements and derive specific test scenarios for integration and load testing. For the transition to trial operations, we define clear criteria that verify the required level of system stability and performance.
We support the contractor’s testing activities and validate the results. On this basis, we manage the start of client acceptance testing, verify the interaction of all system components, and document the results transparently.
Ramp-up management and trial operations
The transition to live operations is one of the most critical phases of a logistics project. The objective is to reach the planned performance levels incrementally without disrupting ongoing business operations. We support the entire trial operation period and systematically monitor the development of performance, stability, and process reliability. We identify remaining weaknesses under real operating conditions, prioritize corrective measures, and manage their implementation.
At the same time, we ensure that your operations personnel and technical teams receive targeted training and can operate the systems safely and confidently. All identified deviations are recorded systematically and tracked through complete resolution.
Final acceptance and transition to steady-state operations
At the end of the ramp-up phase, we ensure the complete and contract-compliant handover of the system.
We review the performance and availability verification, assess the achieved system KPIs, and ensure that all agreed requirements have been met. We also verify the documentation and confirm the completeness of the scope of supply and services. On this basis, we provide a sound recommendation for final acceptance and support the transition to stable and sustainable steady-state operations.
