Among other things, it takes into account the space requirements and technical-functional equipment details for each building area, such as energy requirements for heating, hot water, cooling, ventilation, lighting, appliances, machinery and other electrical systems, as well as the energy supply, including emergency power systems and the use of renewable energies such as photovoltaics.

Media requirements such as water supply, wastewater disposal and, if necessary, a gas supply are also included in the catalog of requirements. Added to this are the communication infrastructure, staff requirements, safety precautions, fire protection systems and legal regulations.

After the basic evaluation, an interdisciplinary planning team will proceed to address the construction catalog of requirements as part of the preliminary planning phase.
