Sensirion is a young, medium-sized company based in Switzerland, specializing in the development and production of high-precision sensors and sensor solutions. After achieving exceptional results in research and development, it has become the global market leader for environmental and flow sensors.

As further growth was not possible at its home location, finding a new additional production site became inevitable. The choice fell on Debrecen in eastern Hungary, primarily due to its proximity to sales markets, the high educational level of potential employees, and the committed support of local economic development agencies. The centerpiece of the new production building is a modern, sustainably designed cooling and heating storage system innovatively coupled with geothermal technology. This solution ensures efficient and autonomous media supply, which is both economically and ecologically convincing.

Metroplan accompanied the project from the beginning, developing a comprehensive requirement catalog and the block layout for the two-story new building. In planning internal material flows and production processes, all relevant factors were carefully considered, including the optimal arrangement of workplaces, process flows, and storage systems.

During the further project stages, we prepared the preliminary planning and conducted a detailed scenario comparison, which formed the basis for the preselection of potential project developers. During the tendering and awarding phase, Metroplan created the necessary tender documents, organized the construction tender, and supported the negotiation process in the developer procedure. We also significantly advanced the planning of plant technology, such as the heating and cooling systems.

In the implementation phase, we represented the client on-site and took over project and interface management between the involved trades. Through a forward-looking and sustainable approach, it was possible to ensure autonomous media supply and successfully expand the site in multiple stages.
