Project Management and General Planning

The client is a globally operating, publicly traded automotive supplier. Founded in 1871, the company has evolved from a tire manufacturer to one of the world's leading providers of vehicle components and systems.

They aimed to strengthen and expand its headquarters in Hanover by increasing storage capacity for produced and retreaded tires. This involved raising the roof of an existing warehouse building, renovating it, and equipping it with a photovoltaic system.

Metroplan took over the general planning, finalizing the preliminary and design planning stages. We also prepared comprehensive execution planning (LPH 5), oversaw tenders, and supervised the construction (LPH 8), including project management and interface coordination.

Challenges included adapting to the latest fire protection requirements, dismantling the existing roof, and implementing complex structural reinforcements for the new elevated roof. We also conducted a feasibility study for demolishing and rebuilding sections of the building and analyzed the cost-efficiency of alternative construction and expansion options. Our services included recording and completing plans (LPH 1-4) and assisting the client in contract and supplemental agreement negotiations with the general contractor.
