Holistic Logistics Planning with Special TC Requirements
The customer, based in Central-Eastern Europe, produces frozen baked goods for supermarkets, petrol stations and end consumers and is the national market leader in the frozen baked goods sector.
Metroplan supported this client through all project phases from conceptual design to detailed planning, tendering, awarding and implementation support, including the test phase, right through to final acceptance.
As part of the conceptual design, the layout and material flow technology for the greenfield site were identified and planned based on the quantity structures and requirements in the as-is and target situation. Therefore, not only the shipping has been taken into account, but also the requirements of deep-freeze warehousing.
In preparation for the tender process, the approaches developed in the prior concept phase were further defined and worked out in detail. In addition, the tender documents were further supplemented in order to comprehensively prepare the functional general contractor tender. In addition to the warehouse and conveyor technology, the IT system was also included in this tender. During the tendering process, Metroplan supported the bidding phase, clarified questions and took part in the bidder presentations. This was followed by the technical and commercial evaluation of the submitted bids, which resulted in Metroplan's award-recommendation. The subsequent negotiations with the potential general contractors were also accompanied by Metroplan until the final award decision was made by the client. Subsequently, Metroplan supervised the implementation of the logistics trades, including the test and acceptance procedure, and supported the client until the final acceptance of all logistics trades.
