Implementation of a Scalable E-Procurement Solution

As Berlin's largest public transport company, BVG is responsible for ensuring reliable public transportation services daily. The introduction of a new e-procurement solution was a critical step to modernize and future-proof its purchasing and procurement processes. The dynamic project scope, continuously expanded with additional requirements during implementation, posed a particular challenge.

Together with BVG, we first conducted a detailed analysis of the current situation, developed specific use cases, and created a comprehensive requirements specification document. We then supported the tendering process, where a suitable solution was evaluated through proof-of-concept workshops with three providers. Ultimately, an e-procurement solution was selected.

During implementation, the original scope was significantly expanded to include maintenance and service integration. In close collaboration with the BVG team and the solution provider's team, tailored solutions were developed to successfully address these additional requirements. Despite the demanding timeline, the solution was delivered within the planned framework.

The project's success was largely based on the committed collaboration of all participants. The entire project team demonstrated impressive flexibility and goal orientation, enabling efficient handling of unexpected challenges. A remarkable achievement that significantly contributed to BVG’s sustainable development for the future.
